A) We, the European Central Bank (ECB), are inviting applications for the position of Financial Stability Expert/Senior Expert (ESCB/IO).

 Job Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany
 The successful applicant will be entrusted with the following main tasks:
 a) Specific tasks relating to the Financial Stability Surveillance Division
  • monitoring and analysing trends and developments in financial systems, both in the EU as a whole and in individual Member States, with a view to identifying risks and vulnerabilities
  • keeping abreast of theoretical and empirical developments in the field of financial stability surveillance (e.g. early warning systems) and helping to develop the necessary analytical tools
 b) Specific tasks relating to the Financial Stability Assessment Division
  • assessing and quantifying the potential impact of risks on the financial system, both in the EU as a whole and in individual Member States, with a particular focus on stress-test approaches
  • contributing to the development of the analytical tools that are required for this purpose
 c) Tasks relating to both Divisions
  • contributing to and coordinating briefings, notes, speeches and reports prepared by the Divisions
  • contributing to presentations, notes and briefings for the ECB’s decision-making bodies, as well as for the ESRB and its sub-structures
  • collaborating with other business areas in the context of the financial stability matrix and horizontal briefing dossiers
  • contributing to key policy documents on financial stability issues related to euro area countries subject to EU/IMF programmes, with the possibility of representing the ECB in policy discussions with country authorities and other international organisations involved in country surveillance
  • developing and maintaining networks with counterparts in national central banks, supervisory authorities, international organisations (e.g. the IMF and the Financial Stability Board) and in the financial industry as a whole
  • representing the ECB in working groups and at conferences
